Cardi B clearly isn’t worried about the New England Patriots releasing her ex-boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, if her Instagram Story is any indication.
Fresh off a performance in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, March 4, as part of her Little Miss Drama Tour — one that featured a surprise appearance from Megan Thee Stallion — Cardi, 33, warned fans in Austin that she might have a tough time making it to her concert there the next night.
Seemingly intoxicated, Cardi slurred her message, delivered from a car, alternating between English and Spanish. She told Austin fans, “It was these Houston motherf*ers,” and “Get me out this city.”
“Put me in the bus,” she said. “Put me in the motherf*in’ bus, driver.”
Cardi posted her message after leaving the concert afterparty in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 6. Video posted via Instagram shows her singing and dancing at Houston nightclub Sekai after the show.
Her busy night occurred just hours after the Patriots released Diggs, 32, as a way to cut costs. (New England would have owed him an additional $6 million if it waited another week to cut ties.)
“THANK YOU for a hell of a year,” Diggs wrote via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, March 4. “We family forever @patriots … Until we meet again.”
Diggs’ release also comes amid legal troubles, stemming from an alleged altercation with his former personal chef. He was charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery in December 2025 over the alleged pay dispute, which happened earlier that month.
The Patriots stood by their veteran receiver, who led the team in receiving yards, as they made their way through the NFL playoffs. New England ultimately lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on February 8.
“The New England Patriots are aware of the accusations that have been made regarding Stefon Diggs,” a Patriots spokesperson said at the time. “Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon. We will continue to gather information and will cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities and the NFL as necessary. Out of respect for all parties involved, and given that this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.”
Diggs pleaded not guilty in February 2026.
Us Weekly learned shortly after that Diggs and Cardi actually broke up just days before the Super Bowl.
“They are always so up and down. This isn’t the first time they have broken up,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “Cardi is single and putting herself out there again. She feels free. He betrayed her so many times. Her friends have been trying to show her that he is not right for her and that she deserved better.”
