Dak Prescott’s ex-fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, is addressing one persistent rumor surrounding their recent breakup.
“This had nothing to do with a prenup,” Ramos wrote via Instagram on Monday, March 9. “I hope we can put that rumor to rest now.”
The comment came after Ramos saw a clip from the “Speakeasy” podcast where several hosts speculated about what could have led to Prescott’s recent split.
“I am anti-prenup,” host Emmanuel Acho shared in the discussion. “I believe that if you need a contingency plan for marriage, you shouldn’t be marrying them. If you need to protect yourself from your future partner, who you have to lay in bed with every night — the potential mother or father of your children — you shouldn’t be marrying them.”
Just weeks before they were set to tie the knot in Italy, Prescott, 32, and Ramos called off their wedding.
A representative for Ramos confirmed the news to People on Monday after reports surfaced that the future bride and groom — who share daughters Margaret, 2, and Aurora, 9 months — emailed their wedding guests to announce the ceremony had been canceled. (Us Weekly has reached out to Prescott and Ramos’ reps for comment.)
“There wasn’t any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up. It was a mutual decision,” Ramos’ rep explained. “They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way. It’s still shocking for them since this happened so recently, and they ask for privacy while they sort everything out.”

Many fans of the couple were surprised to hear the news, especially after Ramos had just returned home from a bachelorette party at an undisclosed tropical location.
In a recent Instagram post, Ramos shared a glimpse into the festivities, which included boat rides, jet skiing and fun in the sun.
“I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends,” she wrote via Instagram on Thursday, March 5. “I love these girls so much ❤️????❤️????❤️????❤️????.”
Prescott — who plays quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys — previously announced his engagement to Ramos in October 2024. At the time, Us confirmed that the athlete worked with Jason of Beverly Hills to create a 10-carat emerald cut engagement ring valued at $1 million.
“In my business, there are high maintenance clients and then there’s Dak,” Jason of Beverly Hills CEO Jason Arasheben told Us in a statement. “Dak was so easy to work with and was very intentional with every detail of this ring.”
Jewelry aside, Ramos previously opened up about how parenthood has changed her relationship with Prescott. She was quick to tell Sports Illustrated that it has only made their bond stronger.
“Parenting brings a new element to your relationship because it’s not about you two anymore, the priority is your child,” Ramos shared with the publication in December 2024. “But [parenting] makes you understand your partner on such a deeper, emotional level, and it’s definitely brought us even closer. It’s a blessing.”
