America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal is pressing pause on her tour schedule in order to prioritize her mental health.
“Hi everyone, it’s been a bit. I’m happy to be back and talk to yall,” VanderWaal, 22, wrote via Instagram on Monday, March 9. “I unfortunately will not be going on the Natalie Jane tour due to mental health. I’ve been struggling for a while and am choosing myself in this moment.”
In February, Jane launched The World I Didn’t Want Tour in Seattle, Washington, with dates scheduled until Monday, May 4, in London.
“I love you Natalie and know you’re going to kill it, and I’m sorry to anyone who’s disappointed,” VanderWaal shared in her personal announcement. “I love you so much and will be singing very soon. Thank you guys for understanding. Again so so much love.”
After sharing her health update, VanderWaal received support from many of her followers in the comments section.
“Mental Health is health. Wish more young artists would be as honest w themselves as you are being. Good on you ????,” The Voice host Carson Daly wrote. Jewel added, “Here for you, sis!”
Jane, 21, also showed nothing but support for her tourmate and her decision, writing, “Health comes first always!!! ❤️❤️.”

Many fans first met VanderWaal in 2016 when she competed on season 11 of America’s Got Talent. The singer, then 12, quickly wowed judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell with her voice and charisma.
“This is a show about surprises. I think you are a living, beautiful, walking miracle,” Mandel, 70, told VanderWaal before pressing his golden buzzer during the auditions. “I think the world is going to know your name. You are amazing.”
Cowell added, “You know what I predict for you? I think you are the next Taylor Swift.”
After winning the show, VanderWaal has had the opportunity to tour with Imagine Dragons and Florence and the Machine.
She also made her acting debut, starring as Susan “Stargirl” Caraway in the 2020 Disney+ musical drama film Stargirl, followed by its 2022 sequel Hollywood Stargirl.
“I didn’t have this idea that my whole life was changing at the time,” VanderWaal shared with Teen Vogue in April 2025, when looking back on her win. “Not even close. I still don’t do that. Because I’ve grown up being under so many life-changing moments, like high pressure, high stress. It’s made me a very moment-to-moment person, so I just live in the moment that’s happening right now.”
