Hilary Duff is coming clean. The pop artist, who is currently promoting her comeback album luck… or something, recently sat down with Alex Cooper of “Call Her Daddy,” discussing everything from details from her discography to what it was like growing up in the spotlight. While Duff definitely spilled some tea about the behind-the-scenes of her public life, the singer’s hairstylist, Barb Thompson, gave Us the 411 on which blowout texture spray was behind her client’s effortless cool-girl waves.
Though Duff opted for subtle glam in the video version of the “Call Her Daddy” episode (which aired February 25th, 2026), the “Mature” lyricist’s sleek strands and face-framing waves should also be making headlines. According to Thompson, a culmination of products contributed to the finished look, but the Surface Hair Blowout Texture Spray turned up the volume.

“I really wanted an effortless, ‘cool girl’ relaxed wave with soft curves and a fluid, bouncy bend,” Thompson explained of her vision. To achieve it, the pro tells Us, “I had Hilary flip her hair over, and I used my fingers to run through the iron work so the end result was smooth yet airy. To pump up the volume and break up the loose waves even more, I misted the Surface Hair Blowout Texture Spray from the roots to mid shafts, having her then flip back up.”
It’s worth noting that Thompson’s go-to volumizing spritz is formulated with lychee sugar, which adds body and acts as a heat protectant, plus maracuja oil to boost shine and reduce frizz. In other words, the product is hair bounce in a bottle, and according to Surface customers, the spray not only does what it promises, but it also exceeds expectations.
One Amazon user raved that they loved the texture spray’s lightweight formula and noted, “The smell is nice and pleasant.” As far as the product’s staying power, the reviewer goes on to say that a few spritzes were great at “providing texture without making my hair sticky or crunchy” and that, combined with a waver, provided a “nice hold” that lasted “a few days as well before [my] next wash. LOVE.”
Another commenter shared some user-friendly tips to ensure prospective buyers get the best results.
“I discovered the first time I used this that you can’t spray too close to the hair and you can’t use too much or it becomes too heavy,” they said of their first impression. However, the shopper clarified that a little goes a long way, and that, when applied with the appropriate distance, “it is excellent. Highly recommend.”
Duff’s fabulous hair is what dreams are made of. Truth be told, the performer’s wavy strands are almost as coveted as her music. Fans will be thrilled to know they can get the star’s iconic look for just $35 (plus free delivery with an Amazon Prime membership). Remember: just a few spritzes is all it takes to. . . wake up tired tresses and twin with this so-mature style.
