Nicole Kidman has broken her silence six months after filing for divorce from her estranged husband, Keith Urban.
“I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good. What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward,” Kidman, 58, told Variety in an interview published on Wednesday, March 11. “That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
Us Weekly confirmed in September 2025 that Kidman and Urban, also 58, had separated after 19 years of marriage. The Babygirl actress officially filed for divorce that same month. The divorce was finalized in January.
Ahead of the couple’s split, Kidman attended the Met Gala solo in May. Her last public appearance with her husband was at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 game in Nashville last June. Days after the outing, the pair celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary, with Kidman marking the occasion via Instagram.
“Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself snuggling up to Urban as he held his guitar.
Kidman was spotted wearing her original wedding band as she attended a Clé de Peau Beauté event in Los Angeles in September 2025. Urban was not present at the gathering.

Kidman and Urban are parents to teen daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14. They first crossed paths in 2005, four years after Kidman’s divorce from Tom Cruise, at the G’Day USA Gala in Los Angeles. Though Kidman once admitted that she was smitten with Urban right away but didn’t think he felt the same way, he recalled being in an unhealthy place when they met, so he waited four months before calling her.
“Somebody had given me her number and I had it in my pocket for a while. I kept looking at it thinking, ‘If I call this number, she’s going to answer. I don’t know what [to] say,’” he told The Sydney Morning Herald in 2018. “I wasn’t in a very healthy place in my life. I’d never have thought she’d see anything in a guy like me. But at some point I plucked up the courage to call those numbers and she answered, and we started talking and we talked and talked and talked and talked and it was effortless.”

After reconnecting, Kidman and Urban tied the knot in Manly, Australia, in June 2006. They later welcomed Sunday in July 2008, followed by Faith via surrogate in December 2011.
In 2022, Kidman gushed that Urban was the best thing in her life.
“I met him later in life and it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” she said during a talk show interview. “That man is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. We’re a mix. We’re very suited [for each other]. I’m incredibly lucky to have met him.”
However, Kidman also admitted that she and Urban dealt with their fair share of issues over the years. In 2021, she told Harper’s Bazaar, “We’re always working through stuff, but it’s very much love-based, so there’s an enormous amount of give and take. I want him to have the best life he can have, and he responds the same way.”
Kidman continued, “We really love parenting together.”
