The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mayci Neeley’s 7-month-old baby girl, Charli, was recently admitted to the hospital for breathing issues.
“Wanted to give an update for awareness [because] trusting my instincts was absolutely crucial,” Neeley, 31, began in a series of Instagram Stories on Thursday, March 12.
Mayci, who shares Charli, son Hudson, 10, and daughter Harlow, 5, with husband Jacob Neeley, said she began to have an “anxious, sick feeling” about her youngest daughter during a work meeting earlier this week.
“Our nanny was holding her and I could tell just by touching her that her temp was high,” the reality star continued, adding that Charli had a 102-degree fever.
Mayci also noticed that Charli’s stomach was contracting in an unusual way, signaling potential breathing issues. She and Jacob, 31, took Charli to the hospital, where doctors determined that her lungs sounded “wheezy.” They also found that the baby girl had a double ear infection.
Charli was ultimately taken to the ER, where she received steroids and antibiotics. She was admitted to the hospital overnight as doctors continued to monitor her oxygen levels.
“The anxiety & stress and sadness I felt was unreal,” Mayci wrote. “But ultimately, I felt so grateful I trusted my instincts! The doctor kept telling me ‘You did the right thing by coming in,’ which reassured me.”
Doctors later discharged Charli from the hospital with the recommendation that she use oxygen while resting going forward.
“We are home and Charli girl finally smiled for the first time in a few days which makes me feel like she’s finally feeling better,” Mayci added.
Mayci also urged fellow parents to trust their instincts, noting, “I honestly didn’t really realize how bad she was struggling until the hospital, so I’m so so so grateful we took her in. I was also supposed to be in New York for work yesterday and canceled that trip a few days ago. Call it divine intervention or coincidence, but I do think everything happens for a reason.”
Mayci and Jacob tied the knot in June 2018 after meeting at Brigham Young University in Utah. At the time, Mayci was already a mom to Hudson, whom Jacob officially adopted in March 2023. The couple welcomed Harlow in February 2021 and Charli in July 2025.
Charli’s hospital stay comes amid Thursday’s premiere of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 4. The season sees Mayci navigate postpartum life while promoting her memoir, Told You So, which was released in October 2025.
