Simone Biles has her husband Jonathan Owens’ back — no matter what NFL team is listed on his jersey.
“No Friday the 13th scaries here,” Biles, 28, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, March 13, reposting the news that Owens, 30, signed a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts. “So proud of you, baby. ????”
She continued, “Indy, here we come!”
Owens is an NFL safety, who has previously played for the Houston Texans and the Green Bay Packers. He spent the entire 2025-2026 season with the Chicago Bears, where Biles is often dressed to the nines on the sidelines in custom gear.
“I’m obviously getting glammed by the dream team,” the Olympic gymnast said in an October 2025 video shared via TikTok. “Something you guys might not know about my husband, Jonathan, is he is actually an undrafted, D2 product — and this is his eighth year in the league.”
Biles further gushed about how Owens’ career has outperformed all expectations, considering he was never signed to a team during the NFL Draft.
“He’s broken down barriers, statistics and undrafted means a guy wasn’t drafted to a team, but they are free to sign with any team as an undrafted free agent,” she explained at the time. “Another Bears win, well-deserved! Proud wife. Four in a row — that’s my man.”

After growing up in Missouri, Owens began his career with the Texans. Amid his NFL tenure, he matched with Biles on dating app Raya in 2020. (Biles’ training center is in Houston.)
“It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn’t do anything,” Owens told Texas Monthly in 2021, referring to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. “We used it to get to know each other — really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger. Now, I’m so thankful.”
While Owens initially “hadn’t heard” of Biles or her athletic accomplishments, they connected on a personal level. Owens has since become Biles’ biggest fan both before and after their 2023 wedding.
“It is not much motivation you need to do, just because you don’t want to put extra, added pressure on anyone. I just tell her, ‘Go do your thing, baby,’” Owens exclusively told Us Weekly of cheering on Biles’ gymnastic meets. “You get a different type of focus whenever you just have this one person that you’re focusing on.”
The pro football player also shared that Biles has made him a better athlete.
“I’ve played a lot better since [meeting Simone],” he gushed. “I’ve just been focused and locked in, and you come home, talk about my day and play with the dogs, you know what I mean? That’s just kind of, like, our thing.”
