Team USA ice dancing couple Madison Chock and Evan Bates are in the midst of a whirlwind schedule after the Olympics — which is leaving a potential trip to the White House up in the air.
Chock, 33, said she and Bates, 37, who got married in June 2024, would be open to celebrating their accomplishments at the 2026 Milano Cortina Games in D.C. “if our schedule allows.”
“The White House is incredible and such a historic monument,” Chock exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, March 11. “It would be an honor to tour it and witness the greatness and the art.”
She continued, “It would be wonderful, but I don’t know if we’ll be able to make it. We’re just figuring out our schedule day by day, week by week.”
Team USA figure skater Amber Glenn exclusively told Us last week that she would decline a potential invitation to the White House.
“It is our right to be able to choose what we do and don’t endorse, and I think it is a decision that each individual has the right to make,” Glenn, 26, said on the red carpet of the 37th annual GLAAD Media Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on March 5.
As for Chock and Bates, they’re doing their best to soak up the moment after taking home gold in the figure skating team event and silver in ice dance at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
“It’s kind of surreal,” Chock explained. “The time has passed in a way that makes it feel fast, but also like a long time ago. It’s a weird post-Olympic time warp.”
Chock said “the first thing we did was laundry” when they got back from Italy, but they were quickly right back on the road.
“We were home for less than 24 hours before we hit the road again,” she continued. “But it was really nice to pick up our dogs and see them. I’m excited to see them again.”
The figure skating duo are parents to toy poodles Stella, 13, and Henry, 9.
“We got to see our parents a little bit,” Bates added. “Which was nice, because we’ve just been training and competing and really busy. Even though they come to competitions with us, we feel like we don’t have enough time to spend with them. So, we got a little bit of time with them. I think that’s what we’ll do when we have a little bit of downtime this summer. We’re going to spend more time with family.”
While the couple might be looking forward to relaxing, they also said they’d be eager to pick up the phone if Dancing With the Stars comes calling.
“Oh, absolutely,” Chock said. “We would love to be on Dancing With the Stars. I think the Olympics is an amazing dream, but Dancing With the Stars is another incredible dream that we would love to be a part of.”
Bates said his wife would be “the frontrunner the whole show.”
He added, “She would have the mirrorball before all is said and done.”
