Zendaya took fashion tips from the best.
Zendaya, 29, showed off a Eugene Alexander mini dress once donned by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw in the 2008 Sex and the City movie, and by the late music icon Whitney Houston. The actress wore the look to the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 12.
Her dress featured a one-shoulder neckline, a floral detail on her chest and gold embellishments. The look was finished with a thigh-high slit and an asymmetrical hem.
Zendaya glammed up her look even more with a gold Cartier Love bracelet, stud earrings and the same gold ring that fans have speculated to be a wedding band.
Her makeup was just as noteworthy, featuring manicured eyebrows, dewy skin, rosy and highlighted cheeks and long lashes. She tied her look together with lined, glossy lips. Zendaya’s brunette hair was parted to the side and styled in side bangs that covered her forehead and neat curls.
Parker, 60, wore the same dress while filming the Sex and the City movie in 2007. Her character contrasted the white dress with black strappy heels. She added a pop of color to the look with a bright yellow clutch.
Like Zendaya, Carrie wore her long blonde hair down, parted to the side and styled in curls. She also accessorized with a single gold bracelet.
Houston, who died in 2012, first wore the dress in 1986 while shooting an album cover. The photos appeared on a cover of Time magazine.
While Zendaya and Tom Holland have not yet revealed if they secretly tied the knot, her longtime stylist, Law Roach, told Access Hollywood that the pair got married.
“The wedding has already happened,” he told a reporter at the 2026 Actor Awards earlier this month. “You missed it.” When asked if that was “true,” Roach replied, “It’s very true!”
As of late, Zendaya has been photographed without her engagement ring, which she debuted at the 2025 Golden Globes, and is seen wearing a simple gold band.
