Chris Evans and his wife, Alba Baptista, attended the 2026 Oscars in their first high-profile outing since becoming parents.
The Avengers star, 44, and the actress, 28, dazzled on the red carpet ahead of the Sunday, March 15, ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
For the star-studded parents’ night out, Evans kept it classy with a black suit and bow-tie. As for Baptista, she shined in a strapless designer gown and a blinged out necklace that sparkled on and off the red carpet.
Evans is set to present during the 98th Academy Awards as the biggest films from the past year battle it out for the industry’s highest honor.
Evans and Baptista’s return to the red carpet comes months after the arrival of their first baby. Multiple outlets confirmed in October 2025 that the couple’s little one was born in Massachusetts.
People reported at the time that Evans and Baptista welcomed a baby girl named Alma Grace Baptista Evans.
“They’re enjoying their privacy and these special first few days as a family with their baby,” a source told the outlet.
Meanwhile, TMZ revealed that Alma was born on October 24, 2025, at 1:27 p.m.
Evans and Baptista were first linked in 2021, though he did not make their relationship Instagram official until January 2023. That same month, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that the pair had “gotten serious.”
“This is the most committed anyone can remember him being in a very long time, if not ever. They spend most of their time at his place in Massachusetts and love the quiet life there, surrounded by nature and away from the spotlight,” the insider noted. “Chris was very open that he wanted to take his time before settling down.”
In September 2023, Evans and Baptista secretly tied the knot in Cape Cod. The following month, he confirmed the nuptials, revealing that the newlyweds actually had two weddings.
“I got married,” he said at a New York Comic Con panel in October 2023. “It was really, really great. We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal.”
According to Evans, both ceremonies were “wonderful and beautiful.”
Although Evans and Baptista never publicly announced their engagement, he later shared some insight into how he popped the question.
“I proposed to my wife in Portuguese,” he told The Knot in June 2025. “She’s Portuguese, so I learned how to say, ‘Will you marry me?’ in Portuguese. I had practiced it all week. I had practiced it so much that while I’d be making breakfast and you almost just start saying it out loud. Like, ‘Oh, God, that’s not just a song that’s stuck in my head! It’s gonna let the cat out of the bag.’ I got really nervous when it came time to do it. I actually think I screwed it up, but I still know it.”
Throughout their relationship, Evans and Baptista have maintained their privacy by mostly steering clear of the spotlight. Prior to their date night at Sunday’s Academy Awards, the duo only made one past red carpet appearance together at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
