Love Island star Maura Higgins is “absolutely not” surprised by Rob Rausch being able to afford her Birkin before earning his prize money from The Traitors.
“[He] has done very well for himself,” Higgins, 35, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Uber IrishXit. “Coming off Love Island, one of the biggest shows in America, like, come on, he is not stuck for a few pounds. He could afford that Birkin. I had every faith in him.”
After the pair were the only two contestants left standing on The Traitors season 4, Rausch, 27, surprised Higgins when he shared that he was a Traitor — meaning he would be taking home the prize pot for himself. However, Rausch kept his promise to give Higgins a pricey Birkin bag for making it to the end of the game by his side.
Despite Rausch deceiving her on camera, Higgins had no hesitation about him lying to her about purchasing the bag.
“I knew he was gonna get it. I knew it because he was the one mentioning it to me more than I was mentioning it to him,” she said. “He texts me and he went, ‘Send me a picture of the exact bag you want.’ And then I knew it. Then I was like, ‘Oh my God, he’s not joking, like, he’s actually going to get this bag.’”
Higgins, however, noted that she “wouldn’t have that bag” if it weren’t for The Traitors costar Lisa Rinna, who used her connections to help Rausch buy it in New York City.
“Well, I would have it at some point now, because he would have had to fly to Paris to get it. He would have done it, by the way, which is also, wow, like, crazy,” Higgins told Us. “I knew he’d keep his word. Because obviously, like as a Traitor, your job is to lie and deceive and manipulate and do all these things. But we’re not in a game anymore. So I knew. What would be the point in telling me you’re going to get me a bag if you’re not going to do it? The smile on my face was so happy.”
She continued, “Everywhere I go now, everyone’s going, ‘I’m so happy you got the bag.’ Like, I’m in at the moment. Three girls just walked past. They were like, ‘Congratulations on the Birkin.’ … Literally, I think, the Birkin is more famous than me.”

So I’m a bit like, ‘You know what? I’m just gonna sneak away.’”
