Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn have always tried to keep it real when discussing their marriage.
Ever since saying “I do” in July 2007, the couple have been an open book about raising their two daughters and keeping their romance alive and well.
“I don’t smoke myself, but listen, I live with someone who smokes — vapes, actually,” O’Connell shared on a March 2026 episode of the “Club Random” podcast. “The only time my wife finds me appealing, is intimate with me … the only time my wife — what’s the word? — touches me is if my wife takes a hit off that pen.”

“We keep our money completely separate,” Romijn revealed during a July 2025 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “There’s, like, a community pot. … That’s, like, one of the first conversations you have when you decide to enter into a legal agreement together.”
The amount of money that goes into the community pot depends on who is working more.
“The one who’s not working gets a little bit of a break and the one who is working puts in a little more,” Romijn explained. “And we really tag-team with work.”

In November 2019, Jerry O’Connell was asked to share the secret to his successful love story with Rebecca Romijn.
“The secret … is we had twins and now we’re too afraid to split up because one of us might end up with our kids,” the actor joked to Us Weekly. “We stay together and not for the kids, so not one of us has to deal with them. We would have a rare anti-custody battle.”
O’Connell added, “You know how famous couples go through custody battles and they’re crazy and drag on for years? We would have a very quick [one]. ‘Your honor, I should not have anything to do with these children.’ … They know. This is not a secret.”

“I have to say — I’m going to get in trouble for this — when quarantine [began] … I was like, ‘I’m not sure how, not only is our family going to make it, but can my marriage handle this?’” he recalled to Us Weekly in July 2020. “And dare I say it’s been kind of fun. We might just make it.”
O’Connell added, “I didn’t know I was going to be spending this much time with my wife.”
In a 2017 interview with journalist Jess Cagle, Jerry O’Connell recalled the moment he met Rebecca Romijn while she was married to John Stamos.
“I remember thinking, ‘Wow. This girl is really beautiful and funny.’ I talked to her the whole party. My wife remembers that party and remembers us clicking. We clicked. My wife and I clicked. We clicked the first time we met,” he said in The Jess Cagle Interview. “Obviously, she was married, and I know shenanigans go on, but no shenanigans happened. But we clicked. Day one, we clicked. I want to tell you this about my wife, and my wife says it funnier than I do, but we met. We started hanging out. I came for a sleepover … and I never left. That’s the truth. We just clicked.”
