The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast is keeping their distance from Taylor Frankie Paul following her alleged altercation with on-off ex Dakota Mortensen.
“The [Mormon Wives] cast is afraid of losing more brand deals and money,” a source exclusively tells Us, claiming the group is “refusing to film” with Taylor, 31, if and when season 5 production resumes. “Everyone is worried season 5 will be the last.”
Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which premiered in 2024, follows Taylor and her fellow group of “MomTok” social media influencers as they balance motherhood, marriage, faith and business opportunities. The docuseries also stars Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Layla Taylor, Miranda McWhorter and Demi Engemann.
The group — aside from Demi, 31, who took a break from the show during the currently airing season 4 — has been in production on season 5 until early this week. News broke on Tuesday, March 17, that Mormon Wives production was halted after Taylor and Dakota, 33, were allegedly involved in a domestic violence investigation.
None of Taylor’s fellow MomTokkers have publicly addressed the scandal or the pause in production, while Taylor herself admitted on Good Morning America on Wednesday, March 18, that she doesn’t “call the shots” about when cameras roll, but as far as she knows, filming has ceased. (Us has reached out for comment.)
“No one is speaking to Taylor right now and they are all livid,” the insider adds. “It’s a nightmare behind the scenes right now.”
Taylor, for her part, is currently in New York City to promote her upcoming season of The Bachelorette season 22.

“There’s more to the context to everything and it’s unfortunate,” she exclusively told Us at a press event on Tuesday. “It’s been hard, and it sucks to be in this position. And the mother that I am, that is something I will always stand my ground on. I believe that I am a good mother and I have always treated my kids very well.”
Taylor shares two children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul, and 23-month-old son Ever with Dakota, who has been focused on his family amid the ongoing investigation.
“His No. 1 priority here is protecting Ever,” Dakota’s rep said in a Wednesday statement to Entertainment Weekly. “He knew there was a possibility it could come out, but he was not going to be the one to proactively do that because he has always wanted a decent relationship with Taylor. It’s been really hard to achieve that, but he wants to coparent well.”
Taylor and Dakota broke up in fall 2025, shortly before Taylor went off to film her season of The Bachelorette. She also hooked up with Dakota hours before flying to California for the show but then tried to end their on-off “trauma bond” for good.
A second source, meanwhile, told Us this week that Taylor and Dakota currently don’t have any communication and are coparenting Ever through a third party.
Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette premieres on ABC Sunday, March 22, at 8 p.m. ET.
