Romeo Beckham was spotted as a soccer spectator as tension within his family reaches a fever pitch.
Beckham, 22, attended the UEFA Champions League semifinal between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France on Wednesday, May 7.
Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal 2-1 to advance to the Champions League final, which likely came as a disappointment to Beckham, a noted Arsenal supporter.
Away from soccer, Beckham and his family are in the midst of a bitter feud centered around his relationship with his older brother, Brooklyn.
Us Weekly exclusively reported earlier this week that Brooklyn, 26, was absent from his father David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration on Saturday, May 3 due to Brooklyn’s feelings about Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.
A source told Us that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, requested a “separate meet-up” for David’s birthday to avoid interacting with Romeo and Turnbull, which his parents did not agree to.
“David and Victoria are over it,” the insider said. “They’ve thrown in the towel over the whole thing.”
The 50th birthday party was attended by Romeo, Turnbull and the Beckhams’ two youngest children: son Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 13.
“David and Victoria just want to treat everyone the same and approach life like a family and the family does things a certain way,” the source explained. “But Brooklyn isn’t playing it like that, and everything is a drama.”
The source added, “They just tell the whole family there’s a party, ‘Here’s the time, here’s the date.’ It’s not that complicated. Everyone else seems OK with it.”
After the big bash, David and Victoria both gushed about the celebration via Instagram without making mention of Brooklyn or Nicola.
A separate source told Us Weekly that Victoria’s “bad blood” with Nicola, 30, has also been a stressor for the family, which dates back to before Nicola and Brooklyn got married in April 2022.
“Things never really got smoothed over, and you can tell it still affects everyone,” the source explained. “The tension is still present and it’s hard for Brooklyn at times. Brooklyn’s having a tough time with it. He’s super stubborn and just wants space from his family right now.”
The insider added, “He completely supports and stands by Nicola, and it has put a rift in his relationship with his parents. Nicola is outspoken and that is what has caused tension with his parents. She will defend Brooklyn a lot and is defensive. Brooklyn will always be on Nicola’s side, and that’s made things even more tense between him and his parents.”
