Julia Roberts seemingly rang in Mother’s Day 2025 with her three kids by her side.
The Oscar winner’s husband, Danny Moder, celebrated the holiday by sharing a rare snap of Roberts, 57, posing for a sweet family pic with their children. “Mothers make the coolest stuff. Love these guys,” he captioned the Sunday, May 12, Instagram pic.
In the photo, the actress lovingly reached out to her sons — Henry, 17, and Phinnaeus, 20 — on a tree stump as her daughter, Hazel, 20, sat in her lap. Hazel matched her famous mother by sporting sunglasses but opted for a polka dot skirt while Roberts rocked a pair of jeans. Henry and Phinnaeus, meanwhile, kept things casual in T-shirts, jeans and cargo pants.
Moder, whom Roberts wed in 2002, was not featured in the snap, unlike one of his previous Mother’s Day posts. “That pretty mama in the middle. We love you so much,” he captioned an Instagram photo of the family of five back in May 2019. Moder, 56, leaned into frame as he and his kids embraced Roberts for a hug.
Roberts and Moder became parents with the birth of their twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus in November 2004. They expanded their family again with the birth of Henry in June 2007. Roberts has primarily kept her children off her social media over the years, opting to share throwback pics of her kids rather than recent photos.
“Incredible that this baby is now a towering 17 year old wonder!” she wrote alongside a cute snap of herself holding her youngest as an infant via Instagram in June 2024. “Happy Birthday beautiful Henry ????.”
A few months prior, Roberts posted another old photo of herself holding Hazel and Phinnaeus as babies for their 19th birthday. “There are no words for the joy, the fun, the wild rumpus of life together. ????,” she captioned the November 2023 Instagram upload.
Roberts opened up about sharing the Hazel and Phinnaeus throwback birthday snap in an interview with Extra in December 2023. “It is something to be celebrated, and I know Instagram is a place where people like to share happy things and I love them so much,” she gushed at the time. “I really did just happen to come upon this cute picture and I thought … That allows me to share something as a proud parent of them without infringing on their privacy at all.”
While the Leave the World Behind star prefers to keep her kids out of the spotlight, she does use her social media to gush over her husband. “I Love You, I Love You is my song and here my silliness begins,” she captioned a black-and-white Instagram photo of Moder holding her baby bump in honor of his birthday on January 31. “Neruda. #131 #truelove #cakeday.”
Roberts previously commemorated their 22nd wedding anniversary by sharing a throwback PDA clip of the two of them making out at an event. “TWENTY TWO YEARS,” she captioned the July 2024 Instagram post, adding several red heart emojis and an American flag as a nod to their 4th of July nuptials.
