Jason Kelce is fully embracing all the curveballs that come with being a girl dad of four — but he’s not quite ready to think about dating someday.
While speaking to Us Weekly exclusively at the 2025 Amazon Upfront in New York City on Monday, May 12, Jason, 37, shared an update on how he and wife Kylie Kelce are adjusting after welcoming their fourth daughter, Finn, in March. (The couple also share Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 4, and Bennett, 2.)
“I mean, now I’m more experienced,” Jason told Us of raising little girls. “Travis and I didn’t have any sisters. We had no first cousins growing up, so I was not around a lot of young girls. So it’s been new for me, but now it’s pretty standard.”
When asked whether he would ever allow his daughters to date an NFL player when they’re older, Jason kept an open mind.
“I’ll let ’em date whoever they want,” he said, hinting that he hasn’t come up with any rules “yet” for his daughters’ future love interests. “It’s hard to restrict dating. I’ve been asked this question before, I guess on the podcast, and my thing is you try and raise them with as much critical thinking ability and try and instill the values that you think are important. And that’s kind of it.”
Earlier this year, Jason joined Kylie, 32, on her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, where she admitted that she would “be very skeptical” if one of their girls dated an athlete.
“I know a lot of great football players, [but] I also know a lot of football players that I would not want to date my daughters, for sure,” Jason replied in February. “Hopefully, both of us can show our daughters what good men and women are, so that they can be able to decipher these things. That’s all we can do.”
He continued, “Nothing is gonna help if we’re being skeptical. If they fall in love with a douchebag, nothing about us being skeptical is gonna help.”
Athlete or not, Jason pointed out a few traits that he wouldn’t approve of. “Red flag for me is anyone that uses the term ‘red flag,’ just gonna start it off right there,” he joked. “[And also] anybody who doesn’t treat service people with respect and kindness, anyone that’s narcissistic. … I think you can gauge how people are by how they treat people when they have nothing to gain from it. That’s a big one for me.”
It’ll be a few years before Jason is fending off boyfriends, so for now, he’s just enjoying every new milestone with his family.
“They’re all so young,” he told Us on Monday. “I just can’t wait to watch ’em grow up together. And Wyatt is now starting to get older, get into the sports, more active, more out and about. So definitely looking forward to the summer, getting her in summer camps and starting to really embrace that next phase of growing up.”
