Aspyn Ovard is dishing on one of her first intimate experiences with a girl following her divorce from Parker Ferris.
“I went to this Halloween party and I was, like, dressed up as a bride. … It was an ironic costume. I was wearing my wedding ring,” Ovard, 29, said on the Tuesday, May 13, episode of the “For the Girls With Becca Moore” podcast. “I got back from the party and she came over and I was still wearing the costume and we were, like, sitting on my couch. I was in Utah. … I was, like, sitting there, like, ‘OK, we are going to kiss.’ I was like, ‘Wait, I’m going to take off my wedding ring, and then I’m going to kiss you.’ It was funny because I was dressed as a bride.”
Ovard clarified that she had kissed someone else prior to this interaction, but said it “wasn’t the same.” She noted that this experience after the Halloween party, which she later revealed occurred after filming an episode of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2, is what she considered to be her first romantic moment with a woman.
“The first girl that I ever talked to, I really clicked with. Now, if I was ever talking to anyone else, unless I immediately clicked right away, I would not even give it a chance,” she said, explaining that it “wasn’t going to work out” with that girl. “I’m not ready to be dating. Like, actually dating anyone. It’s just too soon for me. I can have fun, but that’s all I can do right now.”
Ovard gushed that she was “excited” to be with a girl for the first time. “She just made me feel so comfortable. She knew that it was my first time hanging out with a girl,” Ovard said. “I was very comfortable with her. So it just didn’t feel scary. I was like, ‘This is so fun.’ It was just sexy.”
News broke in April 2024 that Ovard filed to divorce Ferris after nine years of marriage and on the same day that the pair announced the birth of their third daughter. (Ovard and Ferris are also parents to daughters Cove and Lola.)
After their split, Ovard confirmed that she would be open to dating women. “So many people struggle with their sexuality for, like, many different reasons,” she said in a December 2024 TikTok video. “I have always been told I can love whoever I want and be whoever I want, and so I’ve always known that. At this point in my life, I’m not confused about my sexuality.”
She added, “I’m more confused about straight people because I’m, like, ‘How do you guys not want to hook up with girls?’ Like, I don’t understand that.”
