Blake Lively and her sisters got it from their mom, Elaine Lively.
Blake’s older sister, Robyn Lively, took to Instagram on Monday, May 12, to share moments throughout their mom’s life as they celebrated Mother’s Day. In the snaps, fans got a look at Elaine, now 77, modeling in bikinis, chic outfits and dramatic makeup.
“That’s my M❤️M ya’ll. Not many know this, but shortly after she stepped into her most important role as mother to her 5 kids, she became a successful model,” Robyn, 53, captioned the photos.
She continued, “She is beautiful in every definition of the word. But her beauty transcends vanity. It’s rooted in creativity, talent, fearlessness, smarts, and most of all, courage.” Robyn went on to explain that Elaine used to take her kids with her to “print jobs for modeling,” which helped kickstart their own careers.
“Soon they were using us (her kids) in the ads, and from there I got an agent,” Robyn wrote. “She would drive me to auditions all over Atlanta. At 3 years old, I did my first commercial. At age 5, I was cast in a movie of the week.”
Elaine shares Robyn, along with daughter Lori and son Jason, with her ex-husband Ronnie Lively. She’s also the mom of Blake and son Eric, whom she shares with Ernie Lively, née Ernest Wilson Brown Jr.
Blake still honors her dad’s former last name in her haircare brand, which she named Blake Brown.

“Brown is my dad’s [last] name,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in July 2024. “My dad took Lively from my mom. I just thought that was really cool.”
She continued, “I’ve only ever been called Blake Lively, but Blake Brown was on my birth certificate and it would show up in legal documents. It was always an identity that I never fully stepped into and it was the most intimate identity and people don’t really know anything about it.”
Blake launched her haircare collection in August 2024.
