Candace Cameron Bure doesn’t want to hear it about her looks.
On Monday, May 19, the 49-year-old Full House alum screenshotted and posted a DM received from an Instagram follower who commented on Bure’s difference in appearance.
“U really look old here … not aging well???” the message read, according to Bure’s Instagram Story post. The actress added a comment of her own.
“I received [sic] countless messages like this on the daily. As much as I love connecting on social media, this is one of the downfalls,” Bure wrote. “I’m a [middle-aged] woman and can handle rude people. Imagine how this affects our children.”
Bure was referring to her three kids — Natasha, 26, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23 — whom she shares with husband Valeri Bure.
“I shared the last post, not for sympathy but to show the kinds of messages I receive daily. DAILY!! Aging is sensitive,” Bure continued in a second Instagram Story post. “Comments like this hurt, no matter whether they meant to be mean spirited or just a shared ‘opinion’ As I embrace aging, I’m choosing to do it as naturally and as gracefully as possible.”

She continued: “I imagine the people who write these kinds of messages are reflecting what they are personally feeling about their own self to some degree. I feel sad for them and pray for their hearts to know the love of God.”
Bure concluded with a message to followers.
“Be kind. Uplift others. Spread joy,” she wrote alongside a red heart emoji.
Bure has been candid about aging throughout her time in the spotlight, revealing in 2020 that she never really dipped her toe into the plastic surgery game.
“I don’t consider myself a regular Botox user; however, I may get it once a year (or less) on my forehead only to lessen my ‘angry’ lines. I’ve never had any other injectables or fillers in my face,” she said during an interview with New Beauty at the time. “I haven’t had any body treatments either, but I am curious about fat-melters for stubborn areas like my lower back love handles.”
The actress explained that she admires women who “embrace a more natural process of aging” during the same interview.
“Aging is an unavoidable part of life, and I believe we can all grow older gracefully!” Bure added. “These women are beautiful and confident while rocking their imperfect lines and wrinkles.”
