Bella Robertson and Jacob Mayo are opening up about their journey to parenthood — and the difficult questions some fans ask them.
“I think people just don’t know what they’re talking about or who they’re talking to,” Bella, 22, exclusively shared in the new issue of Us Weekly. “We share a story of infertility in the show and that’s something that we haven’t really shared publicly that much, but that’s something that others just don’t know. When you just look at someone on social media, you can’t know what anyone’s going through.”
In June 2021, Bella and Jacob, 26, became husband and wife after getting married on a Louisiana farm. Since then, some fans have begun asking when the couple is going to have children.
In A&E’s upcoming reality show Duck Dynasty: The Revival, the pair decided to open up about the struggles they are facing when it comes to expanding their family.
“I think what we’ve learned in marriage — and you’ll see in our story in the show — is that I wish getting pregnant and having kids was as easy as people act like it is,” Jacob, who is the owner of the General Vintage Clothing store, shared with Us. “Just, ‘Oh, I can just pop out a kid’ or ‘If we want to wait, we get to choose to wait.’ It’s not that transactional of a thing.”
When fans keep asking personal questions, Jacob said it can have an impact on both himself and his wife.

“I think that’s kind of the reason when people say stuff, it’s just like if it was easy or if it was easy not to, we would,” he shared. “But it’s not that simple I would say.”
Bella added, “[When] people comment about us having kids, we’re like, ‘Trust me, you don’t have to ask us.’”
Back in 2012, Bella received her first taste of fame when her family’s reality show Duck Dynasty premiered on TLC. The series ran for 11 seasons before the Robertson family decided to end the project and focus on other ventures in 2017.

In Duck Dynasty: The Revival, cameras will once again follow Willie and Korie Robertson and their growing family of adult children and grandchildren.
When signing up for the new show, Bella and Jacob were unsure if they were going to open up about their parenthood journey. They ultimately decided that honesty was the best policy.
“It was not an easy decision,” Bella told Us. “I don’t think we necessarily intended on sharing it even, but it felt right. … This is just one of the ways that we are showing up and being our authentic selves on this new show.”
She added, “I think that we both felt like if we could help anybody, especially what are the odds that we’re on this stage where we can share something that is so real for so many?”
Duck Dynasty: The Revival premieres on A&E Sunday, June 1, at 9 pm. ET.
