Gigi Hadid’s sister Marielle Hadid wants (at least partial) credit for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance.
“One day, I get this text from Marielle. This is [at a time when] everybody was trying to get a ticket [to her Eras Tour concerts]. I said, ‘I think I’m going to the L.A. one,’” Amy Bean said on the Wednesday, May 22, episode of her and Parvati Shallow’s “Nice Girls Don’t Win” podcast. “She said, ‘I’m going to Taylor with Taylor.’”
Marielle, 44, chimed in, adding that she was invited by Gigi, 30, to attend Swift’s spring 2023 concert in Santa Clara, California.
“We hopped on Taylor’s airplane, which was very cool,” Marielle recalled on Wednesday’s episode. “Her giant dress was on the airplane [and] we got to see her get ready, but the coolest part was [when] we landed in San Francisco, they shut the whole freeway down. There wasn’t a car on the freeway.”
Before the show, Gigi and Marielle even spent time backstage with Swift, 35, and did a tarot reading.
“I did pull a card for her because, well, I had seen something where her [current] boyfriend, [Kelce], had said that he wanted to date her,” Marielle said. “I told Gigi that they should date. … I was like, ‘Come on, even if it’s just for fun.’ This is before they had actually or officially met.”

Swift’s love story with Kelce, 35, began in July 2023 when he praised her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City, calling her out for “not wanting to meet” — and exchange numbers — after the show. (Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end publicly debuted their romance in September 2023 when she went to one of his home NFL games.)
“I pulled this card for her, and I don’t exactly remember which deck it was, but I remember that it was in regards to this and the word ‘swiftly’ was in the reading,” Marielle recalled. “She said she never had a tarot card reading, which I thought was interesting.”
Bean then asked if Marielle had told Swift that Kelce would “be a good lay.”
“I did,” Marielle quipped. “I was like, ‘Come on.’ … She deserves it.”
Swift previously told TIME that she and Kelce started “hanging out right after” his podcast shout-out. (Swift was newly single at the time, ending her fling with Matty Healy in May 2023, less than one year after calling it quits with long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn.)
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” Swift said in a December 2023 profile, making her first public comments about Kelce. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
Swift continued, “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she says. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Swift and Kelce have since proved to go the distance, frequently showing up to support one another’s biggest professional milestones. While the Grammy winner has attended many of Kelce’s games — including back-to-back Super Bowl appearances — he has returned the favor at her Eras shows. In December 2024, Kelce also organized an “End of an Era” bash to close out her touring achievement.
Since then, Swift and Kelce have been enjoying their respective hiatuses out of the spotlight.
“Taylor and Travis are doing great, and they’re still very much together and in love,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in a cover story last month. “They’re just taking a break from the public eye.”
