After hinting at his plans to propose in the future, T.J. Holmes just referred to girlfriend Amy Robach as his wife.
While cohosting the “I Do, Part 2″ podcast on Wednesday, May 21, Holmes, 47, kicked off the episode by introducing him and Robach, 52, saying, “If you got love right the first time around, this ain’t the show for you. I’m T.J. Holmes, alongside my friend, my partner, my podcast cohost Amy Robach.”
Holmes stopped the introduction after noting it felt “so impersonal.” Robach agreed about how “very clinical” Holmes sounded as he tried to find other ways to refer to their relationship.
“With my person, my partner, my spouse. What’s the right way to put it?” he asked before Robach offered the term “love of my life” to him. “Love of my life — there it is! That you had to feed me that line is a little disturbing.”
Robach, however, didn’t seem to mind.
“I think you probably avoided saying it because it’s overused all the time on all the reality shows we watch and you roll your eyes when people call each other the love of their lives,” she told Holmes. “Then we look up and two months later, they’re broken up. So I think you probably tried not to use that.”
While Robach and Holmes didn’t acknowledge him calling her his spouse, they circled back to their relationship later in the episode. Robach was breaking down the timeline of her past marriages to Andrew Shue and Tim McIntosh, respectively, when Holmes pointed out that he waited “longer” before getting married to his exes. (He was married to Amy Ferson from 2004 to 2007 and Marilee Fiebig from 2010 to 2023.)
Robach subsequently joked about how long Holmes would wait before his “third” marriage. The pair have not been shy when discussing their plans to tie the knot in the future. Since launching their podcast in December 2024, Robach and Holmes have been candid about their relationship, which made headlines when they were seen getting cozy outside of the GMA studio on numerous occasions.
At the time photos of them were leaked, Robach had been married to Shue, 58, since 2010, and Holmes had been married to Fiebig since 2010. They both filed for divorce after their relationship was exposed in November 2022.
Robach and Holmes have not been afraid of sharing the low moments in their romance. During a January 2024 episode of their podcast, Holmes and Robach released an episode where they worked through an issue in their relationship live.
“We just wanted to check in and let you know that, despite what you’ve been hearing, we are still together. We’re hearing from a lot of you all on our latest episode of the podcast,” Holmes said via Instagram video that same month. “It was something we really struggled and debated about whether or not we should even put out there — but at this point I’m glad we did.”
Robach added: “Our larger goal in putting out our latest episode was to show that, yes, we like to show pictures of us smiling like everyone else and laughing on social media, but if we want to be real and we want to be transparent, we wanted to show all the sides of us and I would say most relationships. So we hope that all you get something out of it, and we hope you keep coming back.”
