Farmer Wants a Wife’s John Sansone is pulling back the curtain on his content creation earnings.
When Jason Tartick asked on the Monday, May 26, episode of the “Trading Secrets” podcast whether he was “doing [brand] deals right now,” John, 25, replied, “Very few. Not enough to really call it a profit.”
John noted that the Bachelor Nation alum, 36, was “gonna laugh” at his estimation of the profit — which was about $3,200.
“Honestly, I gotta just say this because I gotta stay humble as much as I can. But it’s my fault, quite frankly,” John admitted. “I’m not gonna say who, but a brand approached me. And I was like, ‘Oh, this is insane. I can’t believe this brand’s reaching out to me.’ So I went on ChatGPT and I’m like, ‘Here’s my followers. Here’s my engagement. How much do you think I should charge?’ And they said $1,700. I was like, ‘That’s a lot of money.’ So I charged that. And then I found out later on, I could have been charging $18,000 – $20,000.”
Jason quipped that John “missed a zero” when charging that amount to the unnamed brand. Jason noted that ChatGPT can’t compute numerous factors including his relevancy, community and ability to trend — which he said is “hot right now.”
“You’re gonna get there,” Jason said. “I’m here to help if you ever need it.”
Later on in the episode, Jason asked John how much money he was hoping to rack up in the next year solely off of social media.
“How much do I wanna make? Over six figures,” John replied. “How much do I think I could make? Probably that but a little … maybe, $70[,000]?”
John rose to fame when he starred in season 3 of Farmer Wants a Wife, which wrapped up earlier this month with him choosing Claire Dirette over Lily Ayres. The couple are still going strong and exclusively told Us Weekly they were currently spending time in Chicago while navigating their relationship.
“[We’re] not putting any pressure on ourselves. I think that’s why we have such a strong relationship,” John told Us earlier this month. “We’re not trying to force anything or put all these dates or timelines or plans on us, because that’s just gonna build a lot of unnecessary pressure for us right now.”
He continued, “We’re still in the very early stages of the relationship. We’re both very young. We’re just gonna keep riding this out and see how it goes.”
Farmer Wants a Wife is available to stream on Hulu.
