Halsey is celebrating a major milestone in her relationship with fiancé Avan Jogia.
“today is 1 yr since the dark magic worked and this fine ass man asked me to marry him,” Halsey, 30, wrote via Instagram on Monday, May 26. “be still my beating heart ????????.”
Alongside the message, Halsey (real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane) shared a snippet from the Energy Angel music video directed by Jogia, 33. (Halsey goes by she/they pronouns.)
The couple first sparked romance rumors in September 2023 when Halsey and Jogia were spotted getting cozy in Los Angeles, per photos obtained by Page Six. Later that month, Us Weekly confirmed that the “Bad at Love” singer and Jogia were “getting more serious” as they continued to spend time together.
“He’s been with her day and night,” a source told Us in September 2023. “While she’s working or with her son, Avan’s been there to support her. He even goes on errands and coffee runs. They seem like a good team.”
Halsey hard-launched their relationship in October 2023, sharing a series of Instagram photos with Jogia attending the Luis De Javier fashion show. The next year, Halsey appeared to confirm that the pair were engaged. While resharing an X post that read, “Halsey says she hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia,” Halsey corrected the upload and wrote, “***fiancé Avan Jogia.”
In October 2024, Halsey gushed over Jogia’s “really sweet” proposal. “He proposed in Barcelona,” she revealed on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast at the time. “It’s kind of where we first started hanging out, so it’s really special to us. … Immediately afterwards [he] left to go shoot a show for, like, six months in Canada, and I was like, ‘OK, bye.’”
Halsey admitted that she “wasn’t sure that [she] was ready” for a relationship when she and Jogia first began seeing each other in Barcelona, even though he was the “most amazing, smartest, hottest, nicest person” she had “ever met” in her life. Despite her initial hesitations, Halsey noted that Jogia is The One.
“I never wanted to be married,” Halsey said. “[But with] Avan … I just knew I wanted to marry him.”
The pair have since been soaking up their time as a newly-engaged couple. In January, Jogia gave fans a look at their romantic getaway. He captioned his Instagram post at the time, “Happy new year ???? To my future wife.”
