Three months after giving birth, Gisele Bündchen is opening up about life with her and boyfriend Joaquim Valente’s baby boy.
“Now that my little one is sleeping through the night, I’m back in control of my routine,” Bündchen, 44, shared in a profile for Vogue France published on Monday, May 26. “As any new mom knows, it’s incredible how much sleep — or lack of it — can change everything! But once again, I feel truly grateful: being able to be home with my kids and enjoy every moment with them is priceless.”
The model shares her son Benjamin, 15, and daughter Vivian, 12, with her ex-husband, Tom Brady. Before their divorce, which was finalized in October 2022, Bündchen also served as stepmother to Brady’s eldest son, Jack, 17, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.
News broke in October 2024 that Bündchen was expecting her first baby with Valente, whom she began dating in 2023. Bündchen gave birth in February. People reported that the couple chose River as their son’s middle name, but the pair have not publicly released further details about their baby boy.
Now a mother of three, Bündchen’s main focus is being with her loved ones. When asked to describe her ideal day, she told Vogue France, “Being with my family, especially when we can do outdoor activities together. Spending time with them is what makes me happiest.”
The interview and photo shoot for the outlet served as a return to work of sorts for Bündchen. “It’s nice to see everyone again after this break,” she told the outlet. “Getting my hair and makeup done feels like I’m on vacation: with a baby, the nights are so short that I’ve barely brushed my hair in the last few months!”
Messy hair aside, Bündchen said she feels “more comfortable in my own skin and have a clearer understanding of my priorities,” adding, “I’m grateful for where I am. I feel like I’ve earned it,”
Bündchen shared her first photo of her youngest son via Instagram earlier this month. “I’ve been quiet over here but very busy living life … Sometimes, the most beautiful moments aren’t shared — they’re simply lived,” she captioned a May 11 slideshow, which featured her snapping a selfie while holding her baby. “Lately, I’ve been embracing the slower rhythms, the real connections, the beauty in the lessons that come with being present.”
She continued, “Today, on Mother’s Day, I [es]specially miss my mom, but my heart is full. Being a mother it’s been my greatest gift, a journey that humbles me, teaches me, and fills me with gratitude every single day. To all the mothers out there, your love shapes the world in ways words can’t describe. I see you, I honor you. Happy mother’s day! Sending so much love your way!”
Bündchen’s post also featured a photo of what looked like her and Valente sharing a group hug with Benjamin, Vivian and their newborn.
