Jeon Yeo Been Talks About Her Character In “Our Movie,” How She Prepared For The Role, And More
Jeon Yeo Been has shared her thoughts on her upcoming drama “Our Movie”!
“Our Movie” will tell the poignant love story of Lee Je Ha (Namkoong Min), a film director struggling with an uncertain future, and Lee Da Eum (Jeon Yeo Been), an aspiring actress who is suffering from a terminal illness.
Jeon Yeo Been, who is often called an actor with “a thousand faces” for her remarkable versatility, will play Lee Da Eum, a terminally ill actress who lands her first leading role at the end of her life. When asked why she chose to star in the drama, she cited “Namkoong Min’s strong but meticulously radiant acting, and director Lee Jung Heum’s unpredictable directing style.”
“I really wanted to try playing a lively character like Lee Da Eum,” said Jeon Yeo Been, who went on to share her first impression of the character: “When I first saw Da Eum in the script, I thought she was just like sunshine.” She added, “She’s someone whose energy lights up not only herself but also those around her. She’s beautiful at both sunrise and sunset.”
Da Eum is a character who remains bright and cheerful even as she faces the end of her life. “She’s someone who, more than anyone, treasures the dreams and love of today—this very moment,” Jeon Yeo Been explained. “She’s a person who tries to embrace the beauty and joy of life with everything she has.”
Jeon Yeo Been also described Da Eum as “a vivid, living character who can’t be defined by just one genre or keyword.” She added, “To fully portray the many sides of Da Eum, I focused on her inner world while playing her.”
In the drama, Lee Da Eum is cast in her first leading role in “White Love” (literal translation), a film about a terminally ill patient. “The main character in ‘White Love’ is in a situation similar to Da Eum’s,” she said. “So I depicted actress Da Eum naturally becoming immersed in the world of ‘White Love.'”
“Our Movie” will premiere on June 13 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
