50 Cent is clearing the air about his comments regarding Sean “Diddy” Combs potentially receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump.
“I didn’t say I would Nuke anything,” the “In da Club” rapper, 49, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, June 1, alongside a screenshot of an article by the Daily Beast with the headline “50 Cent Plans to Nuke Diddy’s Chances at a Pardon.”
“I simply said I will make sure Trump is aware. ????,” he added.
Two days before, 50 Cent (real name: Curtis Jackson) took to social media to share his thoughts about the idea of Diddy, 55, getting a presidential pardon.
“He said some really bad things about Trump, it’s not OK,” he said via Instagram on Friday, May 30, after the POTUS suggested he would consider pardoning Diddy if asked. “I’m gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy.”
After Trump, 78, pardoned reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, the president was asked whether he would consider taking executive action for Diddy amid hip-hop mogul’s his trial.
“Well, nobody’s asked. I know people are thinking about it,” Trump said in response to a question from Fox News’ Peter Doocy about a potential pardon. “First of all, I’d look at what’s happening. I haven’t been watching it too closely, although it’s certainly getting a lot of coverage.”
Trump also addressed speculation that he and Diddy had a friendship before the businessman ran for office.
“He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics … that relationship busted up, from what I read,” Trump continued. “I don’t know — he didn’t tell me that, but I’d read some little bit nasty statements in the paper all of a sudden.”
50 Cent and the disgraced music mogul have been in a longstanding feud. The pair have been at odds since the early 2000s, and their drama has only intensified since Diddy’s legal trouble came to light.
Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and has denied all of the allegations against him.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement at the time. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Since his arrest, Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His four requests for bail were denied by Judge Arun Subramanian. Diddy’s trial began on May 5 at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in New York City on May 5
