Jay Cutler is crediting his children for making his coparenting relationship with Kristin Cavallari work.
“The kids kind of do it,” Cutler, 42, exclusively shared with Us Weekly at the Folds of Honor Tennessee Rock ‘N Jock celebrity softball game on Monday, June 2. “We’ve got our schedule and it works for us.”
Cutler and Cavallari, 38, announced their split in April 2020 after 10 years together. The couple share Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 9.
In December 2024, the Very Cavallari star said her coparenting relationship with Cutler isn’t the most predictable.
“It’s been so up and down,” she shared on Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast. “Zero f***ing consistency, which is really hard. It has not been easy, to say the least.”
During the same interview, Cavallari recalled a positive memory with her ex-husband when they enjoyed a family day at a sporting event.
“We sat together at a basketball game earlier in the year, and I was like, ‘Holy f***, this is the best thing that’s ever happened. Jesus Christ, we made it. We can sit next to each other,’ and we haven’t sat together since,” she said with a laugh. “What the f***? It’s a bumpy road.”

In between raising his kids, Cutler is also spending time with fiancée Samantha Robertson. Engaged since November 2024, the pair try to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.
When asked about wedding planning, the former NFL quarterback stayed mum on specifics.
“We got a lot of things in the fire,” he teased to Us. “I mean, we haven’t officially started that yet, but we [will] in the future.
When asked if he’s set a date or had any groomzilla moments, Cutler said he has experienced “none of the above.”
“We haven’t even crossed that bridge yet,” he added, “so we’ll see what happens.”
While it’s unclear when Cutler and Robertson actually started seeing each other, the duo made their relationship Instagram official in September 2023. Robertson posted a photo of the couple in Paris attending a wedding.
Instead of wedding planning, Cutler was determined to raise funds for Folds of Honor, a nonprofit that aims to support the families of fallen and disabled service members and first responders.
Cutler joined Tyler Hubbard, Riley Green, Jordan Davis, John Crist and more celebrities at First Horizon Park in Nashville, Tennessee, to compete in the Folds of Honor Rock ‘N Jock celebrity softball game.
After the game, Cutler revealed via his Instagram Story that more than $600,000 was raised for the “awesome cause.”
