Luann de Lesseps broke her silence after sparking engagement rumors with a huge diamond ring.
De Lesseps, 60, was spotted on Monday, June 2, riding a scooter in Sag Harbor, New York, but it was the ring on her left hand that caught Us‘ eye. Just hours prior, De Lesseps was photographed packing on the PDA in the Hamptons with a mystery man.
In a statement to Us Weekly, De Lesseps remained tight-lipped about her relationship status. “I will say that I got a brand new ring, and I’m a very happy girl,” she said. “And that’s all I can say about that for now.”
De Lesseps’ love life has played out in the public eye since she joined The Real Housewives of New York City, which she appeared on from seasons 1 to 13. She was previously married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps from 1993 to 2009. Luann tied the knot with Tom D’Agostino Jr. in 2016 before they called it quits in 2017.
More recently, Luann was briefly linked to Southern Hospitality‘s Joe Bradley in January 2024. Luann also revealed in November 2024 that she once made out with Hugh Grant, which he playfully weighed in on, saying, “Steady on. I do remember meeting a charming RHNY in a restaurant, but I’d like to stress it was about 15 years ago. I don’t recall shots or kissing but her memory might be better than mine.”
Luann is currently looking for love on Bravo’s dating series Love Hotel. The show, which premiered in April, follows Shannon Storms Beador, Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby as they search for The One at The Grand Velas Boutique Hotel in Los Cabos, Mexico.
“It’s just a whole different take on the Housewives. There’s usually the drama with the women and this is about the drama with the guys,” Luann exclusively told Us in May. “I [was] single [when they called me up for this]. I’m dating. I was like, ‘If you think you can find me guys then good luck with that.'”
Luann said she was “surprised” at the caliber of men on the show, adding, “The guys were good looking and have careers and were interesting. … I’m a big manifester. So I said to myself, ‘I’m going to find love.’ I put that in my head and you’re going to have to wait and see what happens.”
The reality star wouldn’t give away whether she walked away with someone. She did, however, teased that she “connected” with a man “further down the road” while filming the show.
“It really made for a better connection, let’s put it that way. But I had fun connecting with all the guys. As you can see, I love to flirt,” she quipped before explaining the wait before looking for a long term relationship. “It’s been seven years and that is quite a long time to wait. It was just perfect timing. Everything in life is about timing.”
She continued: “I loved the selection of guys. Then we have the second wave of guys coming in so I’m looking for somebody who can keep up with me, who respects me, who can keep up with my lifestyle, who has some money and who is classy.”
Despite “looking for a life partner,” Luann didn’t have any expectations.
“I don’t know if I want to get married again. There’s men that we’d marry that we’d want to play around with and the ones we want to get rid of basically. I’m ready to meet somebody,” she added. “I’m ready to have a life partner. I don’t know if that’s marriage or not but somebody who’s got my back and who adores me.”
