Thrillers aren’t necessarily hard to find in 2025, you just can’t expect them all to be in the same place.
Fortunately, we know where to look to find the best modern suspense movies as well as a selection of thrillers from the past.
To help you add a little excitement to your movie nights, Watch With Us team has selected the three underrated thrillers you should watch in June 2025.
Our selections include a thriller that flew under the radar earlier this year, an action thriller and a genre classic that celebrated its 20th anniversary last year.
‘Drop’ (2025)Meghann Fahy stars in Drop as Violet Gates, a widowed mother who is very reluctant to begin dating again following the death of her husband. But with the encouragement of her sister, Jen (Violett Beane), and her son, Toby (Jacob Robinson), Violet agrees to go on a date with Henry Campbell (Brandon Sklenar), a man she’s been messaging for months.
Henry exceeds Violet’s expectations, and their date would be successful if someone weren’t spamming her phone with increasingly disturbing messages. Once the unseen stalker proves that Toby’s life is on the line, Violet is given a terrible choice. If she doesn’t agree to kill Henry, then her son will die.
Drop is available to rent or buy on Prime Video.
‘The Accountant 2’ (2025)Nearly a decade after The Accountant hit theaters, Ben Affleck reprises his role as Christian Wolff in The Accountant 2. Christian has been keeping a low profile in the ensuing years, but Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) tracks him down and asks for his help solving the murder of someone who appeared in the first film.
The only clues Christian and Marybeth have to go on are the picture of a Salvadoran family and an enigmatic assassin known as Anaïs (Daniella Pineda). This job is too big for Christian to handle alone, which is why he reaches out to his estranged brother, Braxton (Jon Bernthal). The two brothers don’t exactly see eye-to-eye, but they’re going to need to watch each other’s backs if they want to walk away from this case with their lives.
The Accountant 2 is streaming on Prime Video.
‘Man on Fire’ (2004)Director Tony Scott attempted to helm the 1987 adaptation of A. J. Quinnell‘s Man on Fire, but it wasn’t until 2004 that he got his chance. Denzel Washington gives a great performance as John Creasy, a former CIA agent who is haunted by his past and suicidal in the present.
Creasy finds his redemption through Guadalupe “Lupita” (Pita) Ramos (Dakota Fanning), a young girl he is hired to protect by her wealthy parents during their time in Mexico. Through his bond with Pita, Creasy feels that life is worth living again. But when Pita is kidnapped and presumed to be dead, Creasy’s vengeance will have no limits.
Man on Fire is streaming on Hulu.
