Emilie Kiser has been fighting to keep details about the death of 3-year-old son Trigg private — and recently received a temporary win.
Sources close to the litigation shared with Us Weekly that Kiser wants to prevent the release of the “most traumatic moment of her life” to the public. Per Tuesday, June 3, court documents obtained by Us, a judge ruled to give Kiser temporary confidentiality on her request for privacy “until a determination is made that balances the public’s need for information vs privacy interests.”
The insider shared that Kiser was not home at the time of the accident and “should not be forced to relive the aftermath through viral footage.”
“Emilie has fully cooperated with investigators. The focus here is not on withholding information, but on safeguarding the dignity of a child and allowing a grieving family the space and privacy to heal,” the source shared.
The insider noted that the “motivations behind the push for release are concerning,” since requests appear to be driven by monetization and notoriety, not accountability.” Per the source, this “is not a valid justification for invading a family’s grief.”
“Rabid fans and media have surrounded Emilie’s home, filmed through her windows, sent unsolicited packages, contacted members of her family who have private phone numbers, and even falsely announced Trigg’s death in the press before it was confirmed,” the insider shared.
While Kiser has a public profile as an influencer, the source added that the spotlight “does not negate her right to privacy, nor does it make her son’s death a matter for public consumption.” The insider noted, “Being online should not strip someone of basic human decency.”
The source shared that Kiser’s personal declaration, which is under the seal, “reflects an intensely personal account of her grief and trauma, submitted to help the court understand her perspective — not for public consumption.”
“The core legal issues remain fully transparent through public filings by counsel and the court. The Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us on May 18 that Trigg died days after being pulled unconscious from the family’s backyard pool. Kiser filed a lawsuit on May 27 asking the court to block the release of records related to Trigg’s death.
“Emilie is going through a parent’s worst nightmare right now. She lost her young son, her three-year-old Trigg Chapman Kiser (‘Trigg’), on May 18, 2025, following a heartbreaking accidental drowning at the family’s home on May 12, 2025,” the lawsuit published by Arizona Republic read. “Emilie is trying her best to be there for her surviving son, two-month-old Theodore. But every day is a battle.”
The next month, Us confirmed that the investigation was officially closed. The influencer, who tied the knot with husband Brady Kiser in 2020, welcomed son Trigg in July 2021. The couple added son Teddy to their family in March.
