Love Is Blind alum Lydia Velez Gonzalez claimed that her estranged husband, Milton Johnson, had certain terms before they legally ended their marriage.
“When I told him, ‘Hey, I’ll let you know when the divorce papers are ready,’ his response was, ‘I’m not going to sign the papers unless there’s an NDA,’” Lydia, 33, claimed on the Wednesday, June 11, episode of “What’s the Reality?” podcast. “That [was] enough for me to know that I needed to share my truth and my experience because I’ve been suffering in silence, [which] has been too much for me.”
According to the geologist, Milton also allegedly told her she was “stupid” and “untrustworthy” to ask for a divorce without having a non-disclosure agreement in place. She declined to sign one and moved forward with her desires for a separation by announcing the split on the podcast. (Milton has not addressed any of the accusations. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.)
Lydia met and got engaged to Milton, now 26, sight unseen during Love Is Blind season 5, which was filmed in Houston. They wed in the season finale, splitting just shy of their third anniversary.
While Milton has not publicly addressed the pair’s separation, Lydia noted that there were multiple situations that “kept piling up” before she made her decision to file to dissolve their marriage.
“At the beginning, everything was beautiful [and] perfect. It was a fairy tale. He showed me the kind of love that I’ve never received before,” Lydia said on Wednesday’s podcast episode. “He loved me for who I was, and that was my premise of being on the show [and] being loved for who I was and not be called ‘too much.’ Now, I am called ‘too much.’”
Lydia claimed that Milton “would never” compliment her, did not support her battle with fibromyalgia and also appeared to flirt with multiple other women.
“Along the period [that we’ve been] married, I have received, on five different occasions, messages from women allegedly saying that he’s pursuing them at bars, paying for a woman’s drinks, heavily flirting,” Lydia alleged to podcast host and fellow Love Is Blind alum AD Smith. “I went to a wedding, and one of the girls that I used to be friends with has pictures of him in California with another woman.”
Lydia said that she confronted Milton about the accusations when she heard them, which he reportedly denied.
“He was just saying all the things that bothered him about me [like] the swimsuits,” she added, claiming that Milton didn’t want her to wear pieces that showed off her curves in public. “I’m, like, ‘You got to be kidding, dude. We just went to Mexico and I was wearing a diaper of a swimsuit. What else do you want?’”
Lydia also alleged that she and Milton are no longer in touch.
