Dua Lipa is thinking about her future family after confirming her engagement to actor Callum Turner.
While sharing details about her relationship and wedding plans, the singer, 29, told British Vogue that she’d “love to have kids one day.”
“But it’s like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time — how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I’d have to take. I think it’s just one of those things that’s going to happen when it happens,” she said in the interview published Thursday, June 12. “I love kids, but I think there’s so much more to raising a child than just loving children.”
For now, Lipa is happy caring for her and Turner’s dog Golo — a rottweiler-labrador mix — and said walking him in the park every morning is her “favorite thing in the world.” Her friend Sarah added that she “can imagine her with a little farm shop … kids and 12 dogs.”
Lipa and Turner, 35, have been linked since January 2024 and confirmed their romance when the “Levitating” singer shared photos from the Glastonbury Festival via Instagram in July of that year. They made their official red carpet debut at the 2025 Met Gala in May.
Lipa shared with British Vogue that they have had many “Sliding Doors moments” over the years, nearly crossing paths before ultimately being introduced at The River Cafe in London.
“This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever — it’s a really special feeling,” she said of their engagement.
Although they try not to go more than two-and-a-half weeks without seeing each other, Lipa is very busy, noting her current daily schedule is “full, full, full, full, full.”
She’s up at 6.30 a.m. and in bed by midnight, filling her day with good food, workouts, dance rehearsals, singing sessions and speech therapy amid her Radical Optimism Tour, which kicked off in May. She also spends time in the studio, works with a Spanish tutor three times a week, reads and cooks.
No wonder she’s hesitant about welcoming a baby into her current world.
“Family is so precious,” the hitmaker told Vogue France in 2023 when asked whether she’s planning on having children one day, adding, “Hmm, maybe, but nothing’s planned!”
Still, Lipa has never felt more confident in her own skin than she does now.
“I turn 30 in August,” she said in Thursday’s interview, “and I’ve been thinking about it a lot, because your 20s are just so tumultuous in the way you think about yourself and your body. And I don’t know, now I feel like I’ve come to a place — I’ve become better at taking care of myself and working out and dancing. I feel the most confident I’ve ever felt. I feel very empowered and strong in my body. I feel good when I’m sharing my energy with people on stage. There’s just so much of that that makes me really proud of my body and the way it holds me.”
