Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen have finalized their divorce more than one year after their split.
Fisher, 49, and Baron Cohen, 53, announced the news in a Friday, June 13, joint statement posted on their respective Instagram Stories.
“Our divorce has now been finalised. We are proud of all we’ve achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to coparenting our wonderful children,” the statement read. “We ask for the media to continue to respect our children’s privacy.”
The former couple first publicly announced their decision to end their marriage in an April 5, 2024, statement shared on their Instagram Stories.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage,” they said at the time.
“We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change,” the statement continued. “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.” The pair share three children.
Fisher later spoke out in the months following the breakup, telling The Times of London that the divorce was “the most difficult thing” she had ever “been through.”
“I’ve learned so much about myself in the process,” she told the outlet in the February 8 article. “I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents.”

Fisher reflected on her own parents’ divorce and how they were able to create a “very harmonious” environment despite their split.
“I don’t ever remember them fighting about anything. They were very inclusive of each other. That’s the dream,” she recalled.
Fisher said that amid the divorce, one thing that is for certain is that “kids are the most important thing.”
“You want them to really feel safe and loved,” she continued. “We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.”
The actress said she was leaning on her friends for support while navigating her life post-split.
“The women in my life have held me … the female relationships that I cultivated in our business, those women have been there for me. I’m actually going to get emotional,” Fisher said. “I’m sitting here today because of them. I’ve learnt so much about the power of female friendship and I’ve just learnt that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership and what my values are. It’s been this expansive learning curve.”
