Watch: Yoon Hyun Soo Rises To School Insider After Two Powerhouses Recruit Him In “I Am A Running Mate” Highlight Video
TVING’s original drama “I Am a Running Mate” has unveiled a new highlight video ahead of its premiere!
Directed by Oscar-winning “Parasite” co-writer Han Jin Won in his directorial debut, “I Am a Running Mate” is a teen political drama starring Yoon Hyun Soo as Noh Se Hoon, a student who becomes the laughingstock of his school after an unfortunate incident. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he is suddenly nominated as a candidate for vice president in the student council election. Thrust into a whirlwind of cutthroat strategies and power plays, Noh Se Hoon is determined to reclaim his dignity and seize victory.
The newly released video kicks off with Se Hoon’s once-quiet school life turning upside down. After a ridiculous mishap on his way to school, he becomes the subject of ridicule among his peers. However, an unexpected opportunity arises when Yang Won Dae (Choi Woo Sung) approaches him with the idea of becoming his running mate in the upcoming student council election. Believing that winning the election is his only shot at rewriting his reputation, Se Hoon decides to run for vice president.
But the story takes another twist when Se Hoon is soon approached by another popular student Kwak Sang Hyun (Lee Jung Sic). Suddenly, Se Hoon finds himself at the center of school politics, rising from public embarrassment to becoming a key player in student life.
As Se Hoon joins Kwak Sang Hyun’s camp, he now works alongside top student Yoon Jung Hee (Hong Hwa Yeon), while Yang Won Dae (Choi Woo Sung) teams up with social butterfly Park Ji Hoon (Lee Bong Joon) and the stunning Ha Yoo Kyung (Kim Ji Woo), setting the stage for a fierce battle between the two factions.
The teaser showcases the subtle yet intense psychological warfare between both camps, highlighting a relentless pursuit of victory where strategy knows no bounds. With Kwak Sang Hyun narrating, “The only thing you need to worry about is how we’re going to win. That’s all,” the video hints at the unpredictable twists and drama of student politics.
