Savannah Chrisley is grateful to celebrate Father’s Day with her dad, Todd Chrisley, for the first time since his presidential pardon and subsequent release from prison.
“Father’s Day looks a little different these days ????,” Savannah, 27, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, June 15. “I sure do love you, Daddy!! God is good!!”
Savannah shared footage from the moment she saw Todd, 56, exit the jail facility in Florida, where he was previously incarcerated. In the clip, the Chrisley Knows Best patriarch wore a gray T-shirt and sweatpants as he held a bag with his personal effects.
Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were both released from federal prison on May 28 after receiving presidential pardons from Donald Trump over their fraud convictions. Todd and Julie, 52, had maintained their innocence during a trial and subsequent appeal hearing.
After Todd and Julie reported to prison, Savannah was granted custody of her younger siblings. In addition to Savannah, the married couple share sons Chase and Grayson and daughter Chloe, who is the biological child of Todd’s son Kyle. He is also father to daughter Lindsie from a previous relationship.
Todd and Julie saw each other for the first time in years upon their release.
“I want to thank first and foremost my Lord and savior because that’s who got me through it,” Todd said in a press conference last month, going on to thank Savannah for her tireless efforts in advocacy. “She has fought a long fight and for any parent to see their child fight this hard, it’s a double-edged sword. It’s a blessing, and then your heart breaks because your child has been placed in that position.”
He added, “Even though this pardon has happened, I still was convicted of something that I did not do. It could be you. It could be any of you.”
Since Todd and Julie came home, they have been making up for lost time with their kids. Grayson, 19, also shared a Father’s Day tribute on Sunday.
“Man, where do I start, today is the first time in about three years we have actually been able to celebrate today,” Grayson wrote via Instagram. “Happy Father’s Day to the man I look up to and the man that has always been there even in his toughest times.”
The teenager continued, “I really don’t know how you do it, how you always know the right thing to say and do or how you always come out on top. I pray every day that one day I can be at least half the man you are. I love you always, Dad.”
